Worktops Cost in the UK?

The price of a stone kitchen worktop depends on the material you choose, the finish, and the size and shape of your kitchen.
Granite worktops
As a general guide, granite worktops in the UK typically run from around £270 to £900 per square metre once fitting is included, with the wide range coming down to the rarity of the stone and the finish you pick.
Quartz worktops
Quartz worktops follow a similar pattern, typically costing £250 to £600 per linear metre for a mid-range finish, which works out at roughly £1,050 to £1,650 for a small kitchen and £2,500 to £3,850 for a larger one with more worktop space to cover.
Marble worktops
Marble worktops tend to sit above both, since the stone itself costs more and needs extra care to cut and polish without damaging its veining.
What affects the price?
A few things move the price up or down. The finish matters: a polished surface costs less than a honed or leathered one, because those textures take longer to produce. The edge profile you choose adds cost too, with a simple straight edge at the low end and a custom shaped edge costing more. Cutouts for sinks, hobs and taps add labour time, and a kitchen with a lot of joins or an island unit will cost more to fit than a straightforward run of worktop.
