Most stone kitchen worktops in the UK cost between £200 and £1,000 per square metre fitted. Quartz usually sits at the lower end, granite covers a wide range depending on the stone, and marble tends to cost the most.

Quartz worktops cost around £200 to £550 per square metre.

Granite worktops cost around £270 to £900 per square metre, depending on the grade of stone.

Marble worktops cost around £400 to £1,000 or more per square metre, depending on the variety.

What a whole kitchen might cost

MyJobQuote puts a quartz worktop for a small kitchen, with about 3 metres of worktop, at roughly £1,050 to £1,650 fitted. A larger kitchen with about 7 metres of worktop comes to roughly £2,500 to £3,850, and a kitchen with an island will cost more again.

04 — What affects the price

What affects the price?

The stone you choose has the biggest effect on the price. The finish matters too, because a polished surface usually costs less than a honed or leathered one. A shaped edge profile costs more than a simple straight edge. Cutouts for sinks, hobs and taps add labour time, and a kitchen with an island or a lot of joins takes longer to fit than a straight run of worktop. The distance to your home can also affect the price.
